The Mash-Up Americans Podcast
The Mash-Up Americans is your guide to hyphen-America, with original stories, a podcast and smart conversations about the tangle of culture, race, identity and religion.
The Mash-Up Americans is what America looks like: a wedding with mehndi and a chuppah, a kitchen where heirloom chopsticks and grandma’s cornbread recipe sit side-by-side, a meeting of parents who don’t speak the same language, a baby whose name contains multitudes, a date where you find yourself explaining that what you look like is only part of who you are.
We live on the frontlines of hyphen-America, and we want to talk about it--all the things we love, struggle with and need to understand. We’re here to help you navigate the complexities of Mash-Up America as we figure it out ourselves.
